TruPrint Blank Check Stock Security Features

To implement a check fraud prevention plan, check stock must contain a combination of both visible/concealed- and paper/ink-based security features. This combination provides protection from duplication and alteration.

TRUPRINT BLANK CHECK STOCK SECURITY FEATURES
1. Toner Grip A unique surface treatment applied during the manufacturing process, yields greater adhesion of TruPrint MICR Toner on surface of document. By fusing toner to paper fibers, any alteration attempts (usually done by cellophane tape lifting of the printed image) become clearly detectable.
2. Void Pantograph Background designed on screens that expose a hidden VOID pattern when scanned or copied.
3. Fluorescent Fibers Invisible unless exposed under ultraviolet (black) light where fibers appear as bright glowing yellow threads. Copiers cannot reproduce.
4. Microprinting Miniature print that appears as screened line or border. Verified with magnifying glass. Copied or scanned attempts appear plugged and/or unreadable.
5. Warning Borders A notice or warning designed to advise document handlers and potential fraud artists of specific overt and covert safeguards present. Printed in reverse type on face of document.
6. Padlock Icon The Enhanced Security Features Padlock Icon is a small padlock symbol printed on the front and back of a check. It indicates that the security features on the check have been approved by the CPSA (Check Payment Systems Association).
7. Black and Blue Dye Dyes react to a variety of chemical solvents used to remove information from documents. Black or blue stain clearly visible upon placement of alteration solvents.
8. Multi-language Brown Stain Void Brown-colored VOID appears in six languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese) signaling contact of a bleach or chlorine-based ink eradicator on document.
9. Watermark Pattern printed in opaque ink on back of document. Visible when viewed at 45-degree angle. Copier- and/or scanner-resistant.

11. Selfmailer Check Stock Same high-quality security features available on self-mailer check stock. Never compromise the quality and security of your company with anything less than TruPrint self-mailer check stock.
12. Thermochromic Ink A key appears in red heat-sensitive ink in a circle on the front of the check stock. When rubbed or exposed to heat it will disappear; therefore it cannot be photocopied.
13. Control Numbers Each piece of check stock has a unique number printed in red on the back of the check. Therefore, check stock can be easily inventoried and monitored.
14. Laid Lines Varying size lines are printed across the back of the check, so any part of the check that is removed and replaced will be obvious.
15. Non-Negotiable phrase on Check "Non-Negotiable" phrase is printed across the back of the check voucher.

Check 21 Compliance

Check 21 allows financial institutions to truncate checks and convert them to images during the clearing process. AP Technology check stock meets ANSI standards for check imaging compliance. The key areas of interest on the check stock (Date, CAR - Convenience Amount Rectangle, Payee, Legal and Signature) have successfully passed RDM qualifier testing that requires defined print contrast levels and background print that will not interfere with handwritten or printed data.
